L’installazione è composta da fotografie di pietre, rami e oggetti provenienti dall’archivio dell’artista Mundus. Il titolo è omonimo a quello del romanzo “Brevemente risplendiamo sulla terra “di Ocean Vuong, autore vietnamita che ricostruisce la propria storia familiare con i temi della poesia e della memoria, utilizzando una narrazione per frammenti e immagini.

Il progetto fotografico (riprese da scanner) nasce come risposta visiva al testo letterario, condividendone la struttura frammentaria e l’attenzione alla fragilità dell’esistenza. La memoria é intesa come processo non lineare, composto da momenti che emergono e si dissolvono nel tempo.

Il contrasto tra materia e sparizione, tra bianco e nero, pieno e vuoto, costituisce l’impianto visivo del lavoro e suggerisce che nella dissoluzione possa emergere un significato ulteriore.

The installation consists of photographs of stones, branches, and objects drawn from the artist Mundus’s archive. The title is the same as that of the novel “On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong, a Vietnamese author who reconstructs his family history through themes of poetry and memory, using a fragmented, image-based narrative.

The photographic project (images acquisition from a scanner) emerges as a visual response to the literary text, sharing its fragmented structure and its focus on the fragility of existence. Memory is understood as a non-linear process, composed of moments that surface and dissolve over time.

The contrast between matter and disappearance, between black and white, fullness and emptiness, forms the visual framework of the work and suggests that, within dissolution, an additional meaning may emerge.
