Il lavoro si compone di frammenti: rami, pietre, oggetti. Il frammento diventa qui linguaggio e significato, legato alla memoria, alla sua natura discontinua e alla tensione tra presenza e assenza, materia e dissoluzione. Questo dualismo attraversa anche il romanzo Brevemente risplendiamo sulla terra di Ocean Vuong, da cui l’opera prende il titolo: una narrazione per immagini e frammenti, che ricostruisce una storia familiare attraverso la poesia e la memoria.
Il lavoro fotografico è una risposta visiva a quel testo, condividendone la struttura frammentaria e la riflessione sulla fragilità dell’esistenza. La memoria, come il tempo, non è lineare: è fatta di momenti che emergono e si dissolvono, come lampi. Come afferma Rovelli, “siamo storie per noi stessi”, costruite dai frammenti che restano.
Il contrasto tra materia e sparizione – tra bianco e nero, pieno e vuoto – suggerisce che nella dissoluzione si riveli qualcosa di più profondo. Il titolo stesso, Brevemente risplendiamo sulla terra, è un atto poetico che racchiude la bellezza effimera e intensa dell’esistenza: splendidi, anche solo per un momento.

The work is composed of fragments: branches, stones, objects. The fragment here becomes language and meaning, linked to memory, its discontinuous nature and the tension between presence and absence, matter and dissolution. This dualism also runs through Ocean Vuong's novel “On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous”, from which the work takes its title: a narrative in images and fragments, reconstructing a familiar story through poetry and memory.
